River District Vancouver (formerly known as East Fraserlands) is a 130 acre master planned, waterfront community located Southeast Vancouver at Marine Drive and Boundary Road. River District Vancouver will be a complete community with an elementary school, childcare facilities, restaurants, retail space, parks, office space, public plazas, and recreational amenities, all within walking distance or a short bicycle ride. At full build out, the community is expected to have 7,000 new homes and over 500,000 sq.ft. of commercial space.


Wesgroup is seeking a talented Community Relations Representative to join their River District Vancouver Team located at 8683 Kerr Street on a permanent part time basis of a minimum of 24 – 30 hours a week. The River District Neighborhood Centre plays an active role by providing an overview to visitors for this new and emerging community presentation and overseeing programs for visitors and neighbours. This role will report to the Community Relations Manager onsite as well as the Director of Marketing at head office. The role of Community Information Representative/House will consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet, engage and educate visitors about the River District Vancouver community
  • Plan, support and coordinate activities and special events in the Neighborhood Centre as well as within the River District community and in partnership with our retailers
  • Create and engage an online community through social media channels and creation of content
  • Write, layout, proof and send emails, enewletters and other collateral
  • Utilize and maintain data in our CRM system for sending out eblasts
  • Data collection, research and reporting of events and activities
  • Assist with operational tasks associated with day-to-day functions of the River District Centre
  • Required to work on weekends and evenings
  • Due to limited availability of transit, must have reasonable means of transportation in this new and emerging community

Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Outgoing, friendly and responsible self starter who has highly developed interpersonal skills
  • At least 2 years of experience in customer service/sales role
  • Superior verbal/written communications skills, fluency in English
  • Outgoing, friendly and responsible self-starter who works well independently
  • Enjoys interacting with various audiences ranging from business professionals to young children
  • Good understanding of social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter
  • Event planning experience considered an asset
  • Experience in Adobe design programs such as Indesign and Illustrator considered an asset
  • Experience working with CMS or WordPress sites considered an asset
