Life is buzzing at River District Apiary
The Apiary at River District was built by Wesgroup in 2019 to create a temporary home for honey bees, one of the world’s top pollinators. The bees collect nectar from blossoms and flowers throughout the neighbourhood and turn it into sweet natural honey.
Sharing efficiency at River District Energy
River District Energy (RDE) is the neighbourhood’s central heat and hot water system, supplying all buildings through one shared underground pipe system. Designed to support River District as it grows, RDE will also incorporate recovered heat beginning in 2028.

River District Energy (RDE) supplies buildings with thermal energy that delivers space heat and hot water to your home. Our system produces hot water at a central plant and distributes it through a network of underground piping across the River District Community.
